The park contains numerous castles that have been ruined by fires and extensive flooding. The result is an amazing tropical rainforest which seems to “swallow up” the old ruins of the castles. If you are even in or near Cairns, then the park is a must see. We enjoyed by a day tour about 3:30 – then we ate our picnic lunch and had a night tour at 6:15.... It is lined with palms trees and there is a beautiful view of the near by Dunk Island. We enjoyed the day at the beach and on the way back we stopped at a banana plantation to by bananas for Chrystal… and for the rest of us.While we were enjoying ourselves at the beach, we were surprised when skydivers suddenly landed in front of us. On the road from Tully to Mission Beach there is a special area for Cassowaries where they wonder around living in the surrounding jungle. On our way we happened to see a large male Cassowary cross the street with two of his young. She did so well, wasn't scared at all. One of the best parts was there folding table. She loved it. When we going to board the plane she asked Susanna: "Are you coming too mum?" But she knew the answer to that question already and just walked off down the boarding ramp and yelled out: "I'll miss ya, please tell Dad that I will miss him too. Bye!" ...
